Following is a list of the digital/photographic workshops being offered at Calypso Imaging, Inc... Many of the best instructors in their fields are offering to work with you in an intimate setting with the concrete goal of elevating your image making skills. New classes are added and previous classes are re-offered throughout the year.

Introduction to Digital Photography and Improving Your Digital Images  new

The Santa Cruz Coast: A Three Day Photographic Workshop  new

Instructor: Robert Turner
Dates: Friday, April 25 through Sunday April 27, 2008

This workshop is for all photographers who want to create more evocative images in the natural world—from serious beginners to advanced amateurs working in all film and digital formats. The instructor, Robert Turner, is a large-format, fine-art landscape photographer who has exhibited in galleries and museums around the country. During three intensive days, the workshop will alternate between shooting sessions in the field and image editing, optimizing, and printing sessions in Calypso’s photo/digital teaching facility. By Sunday afternoon each participant will select an image, crop and retouch it, make aesthetic adjustments in Photoshop, and prepare the file for printing. He or she will then print a proof, make further adjustments, and finally make a 16x20 or 20x24 Lightjet print. More details...

Digital Printing for the Fine Art Photographer

Photoshop for Photographers: An Introduction to Adobe Lightroom  new

This class provides practical advice on selecting the correct Lightroom and/or Photoshop package for your life, provides a basic introduction to the features available in Lightroom, and aids you in getting started in this program that Adobe has created specifically for photographers. Redwoods and Seascapes

This three day workshop is designed around the basics of photography. Suitable for the beginning photographer who is just learning as well as the the seasoned photographer wanting to refresh the basics. The workshop contains both in classroom lecture where the "how-to" of photography is explained in no nonsense terms and in-field photography sessions. The classroom portion is covered in two 4-hour sessions and covers such topics as: Camera Systems, Exposure, Metering, Lenses (how they work and which to use for what), Other Support Equipment, Capture Media (Film and Digital), Lighting, and Composition. The in-field photography sessions are spread over 1 and 1/2 days and will include exercises at regular intervals that directly illustrate the topics covered in the lecture.

Digital Workflow Class  new

Maples and Redwoods

This three day workshop is designed around the basics of photography.
