I was a filmmaker for many years before moving to large-format landscape photography. The motion picture labs I dealt with were, of necessity, very consistent with color and density because of the need for scenes to match across cuts. I was delighted to find that Calypso was every bit as precise with their quality control---if not better!

In working up a new image in Photoshop I spend many hours over a period of weeks (and through several proofs) making minute adjustments to color, density, contrast, and local balances within the picture. When everything comes together, these are the subtle refinements that allow an image to transcend the ordinary and move an audience. They would be lost if Calypso were not so rigorous with the daily linearization of the Lightjet and the control of their processor chemistry.

On top of that, they always get the work out on time, they are quick to deal with problems, and they are a pleasure to work with.
