Dear Joe,

Prior to discovering the pioneering digital printing being done by Calypso Imaging, I had always been dissatisfied with traditional color prints produced by optical enlargement. Invariably the results failed to match my original photographs in many important ways. The increased contrast, decreased sharpness, loss of subtle tonality, and inaccurate color in the prints caused me to dread every trip to the lab. Moreover, the lack of consistent results and the need to provide my original transparency each time an image was printed caused additional significant problems. But the digital printing revolution, and the exceptional work done by Calypso, have changed all that.

During the past five years, all of my high-resolution drum scans have been produced by Calypso, and all of my limited edition fine art photographs have been printed by your company on the LightJet 5000. The quality of the results has consistently been extraordinary, and the prints are marvelously true to my original photographs. I often receive feedback from my clients and galleries that these prints are the finest color photographs they have ever seen - so colorfully luminescent, sharp, and three-dimensional in tonality that it appears one could walk right into the scenes depicted, or that the animals in the images could walk right out. And everyone is astounded that the prints are made from 35mm transparencies. I am indebted to you and your staff for enabling me to achieve these results.

Moreover, even in the most challenging situation, and under the most significant time constraints, Calypso has never let me down. In particular, I want to thank you again for your assistance with the production of my traveling museum exhibition BEARS! Icons of the Wild. As is often the case with wildlife photography projects that are designed to serve educational rather than commercial purposes, the budget and time limitations were severe for completion of the work for the exhibition. It was a daunting task to do the necessary research, arrange all of the logistics for fieldwork, capture the photographs needed, write the text, prepare the image files for printing, and create the graphic displays - all within less than 2 years and with a very limited budget. Without your help, the terrific support of your staff, and the reliability of Calypso's beautiful prints, it would not have been possible to create a high-quality and highly successful exhibition in such difficult circumstances.

I am especially grateful for the unwavering support that Rebecca Baier has given me. No matter what the production challenges have been, she has always met them in a timely manner with good humor, efficiency, and complete competence. It is truly a pleasure working with Rebecca, and I always know that I can count on her to provide exceptional service and wonderful results.

You and all of your staff have my heartfelt thanks for your excellent work!

Warm regards,
Jenny E. Ross
