I started my switch from traditional C & R prints to the Lightjet 5000 printer in mid-2000. I have been absolutely delighted with the results from Calypso. The prints from your company have shown me a level of perfection never before achieved from my other professional printers. I can't express how happy I will be to see the end of an era that was previously defined by multiple trips to my lab, poor test print after poor test print, headaches, stress, delays, and a finished print that never really reached the artistic quality level I envisioned. Thanks to Calypso, my new era of professional printmaking is as simple as send in an image, wait a few days for the return of my print, open box, and smile. In January of 2001, I have eliminated offering on my web site limited edition prints via any other process than as LJ5K prints.

I have been approached by several other labs w/ LJ5K printers trying to get some of my business even to the point of specifically promoting my work. I have been more than hesitant, despite attractive offers, and have not sent any work to the labs. The main reason was the satisfaction I have had using the Calypso profiles, which gives me the most personal control over the finished image.

Recently I was asked to compare my Lightjet 5000 prints with my older, traditional prints. The best comparison I could come up with would be comparing a 1979 AMC Gremlin to a 2001 Corvette.
