Philip Hyde Collection The University of California Santa Cruz has chosen Calypso Imaging, Inc. to manage the scanning of a portion of the Philip Hyde collection now in the possession of the University. In addition to drum scanning the transparencies and negatives Calypso is also painstakingly digitally restoring the images, some of which have physical damaged or have suffered color changes over the years. Philip Hyde (1921-2006) was a pioneer landscape photographer and conservationist. He attended Ansel Adams' photography program at the California School of Fine Arts in the fall of 1947, studying under photographers like Minor White, Imogen Cunningham and Dorothea Lange.
